This is my submission to the 6e Game Jam by Batts. As a 6e submission, Mythikal Fantasy takes a lot of cues from its predecessors, with a few very notable exceptions. It is a Fate powered side evolution to my main Cortex project, and it takes inspiration from Dresden Files Accelerated and Demon Hunters: A Comedy of Terrors.

This means there are front-loaded character packages with unique condition tracks. The Fudge dice have been replaced by skill dice rated d4-d12 that you pair up for a mind-boggling and fiction-heavy set of 190 possible combinations. There are no floating numeric bonuses — what you see on the dice is what you get. Coercive compels are replaced with stronger player agency.

Unique to Mythikal Fantasy are its affinities and campaign link board. In an effort to work on decolonizing this game genre, the concept of race/ancestry/heritage has been replaced by zodiac-like "affinities" — embrace stone or wonder, fire or shadow. The campaign link board takes the setting creation process, puts a lot of it in the hands of the players, and generates deep connections to the game world and to each other.

I have been a dedicated tabletop RPG player and GM for over twenty years, and I’m excited to see what people manage to do with this.

You need to make the Character Sheet public if you want people to be able to download it.

I can't right now as it is asking me to request access.

weird. it should work now — I must have generated the link before Drive changed the way permissions work. thank you for pointing it out!

Works now, thank you!

I love what you did with the dice, it's instantly more thrilling to me (fudge dice hate our entire table) and I WANT to try it. My only regret is that I don't understand how to create characters. How does the skill pyramid starts and how high does it go? Should I use the numbers you give for important npcs?

Other than that it's a game I'd like to propose to my players for sure.

Heh, looks like I should clarify some of that. I'll also make a couple sample characters.

There's no skill pyramid. So there are three aspect groups, and you choose one from each. Every aspect has six skills associated with it. You step up a skill each time you see it in an aspect. So a character with Animist/Recluse/Wonder is going to have d10 in Notice, but only d6 in Cast.

Within the next week or so I want to be finished with all the stunts. Then I'll get into samples — sample characters, sample GMCs, a sample run through the link board.

Thanks for the speedy answer!

OK! That's almost what I had deduced but it clarifies everything a lot. So, all skills start at d4 and get upgraded (or not) from that; there are no "unrated" skills without a die rating. Unrated is d4.

And to be clear I only talked about the pyramid to use an easy to get  Fate term; it looked appropriate given the example GMC having 1x d10, 2x d8 and 3x d4! There's no confusion about it in your text, it was just my choice of word!
